Arthur FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SARASOTA--A flute recital by a New College senior will be given in the Music Room of College Hall Saturday at 8:15 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Miss Cheryl McWhorter of Coral Gables will offer a program that will include solo works, duets with a cellist and one number with the New College String Quartet. For Miss McWhorter, the recital is one of her final requirements for graduation, and it also will mark her fourth public recital in three years of undergraduate work. Her program will be: a Fantasie by G. Faure; Sonata for Flute Alone by C.P.E. Bach; The Jet Whistle by H. Villa-Lobos, to be performed together with Christopher von Baeyer on the violoncello; A Night Piece, performed with the New College String Quartet consisting of violinists Paul Wolfe and Anita Brooker, violist William Magers, and cellist von Baeyer; and concluding with Sonate (cq) by P. Hindemith. She will be accompanied by Mrs. Jerome Meachen. more

NEW COLLEGE Page 2 Miss McWhorter, during her three undergraduate years, has been a member of the Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra and the Sarasota Concert Band. She also sings in the Church of the Redeemer Choir and the New College Choral Guild. Following her expected graduation in June, Miss McWhorter hopes to continue her studies in flute at the University of Maryland. II
