NEWS RELEASE NEW COLLEGE SARASOTA, FLORIDA 33578 1 187 -5/8/68 813 / 355-7131 Ref.: Furman c. Arthur FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SARASOTA--Four concerts have been scheduled during the remainder of May by the New College Choral Guild under the direction of Jerome Meachen. On Friday evening, (May 10) the group will present its first concert at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Venice. The program will be given in the parish hall at 8 p.m. Later concerts will be May 19, 6:15 p.m., Church of Redeemer; May 24, 8:15p.m., St. Paul's Lutheran Church; May 31, 7:30 p.m., Plymouth Harbor. The 19-member group will present a varied program of canons, motets, madrigals, and excerpts from the Gilbert and Sullivan opera, "Trial by Jury." The group has already performed portions of this program on area television and as part of the New College Parents' Weekend. Members of the group are Regina Puckett, Carolyn Peet, Cheryl McWhorter, Marie Meachen, Irving Benoist, Dorothy Bobb, Marian Bussey, Ann Lake, Wendy Moore, Nancy Thompson, Laura von Behren, Jacques Baenziger, Deane Root, Kit Arbuckle, Barry Batzley, David Moore, Don Peet, Rick von Behren, and David Walton. 30
