ARthur FOR IMMEDIATE SARASOTA, Pla.--Harry Felder III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Felder, Jr. of 4474 Calle Dell Norte, Phoenix, was one of five New College students to be selected as designates by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Selection as a designate means that he is judged among the best future teacher prospects among in North American colleges and universities. The Foundation selected 1,124 students at 309 colleges and universities in the u.s. and Canada from among more than 11,000 nominees. Felder, who is taking the option to gra4uate with a bachelor of arts degree after.three years of study at New College, is majoring in mathematics. lle to continue his studies at graduate school in preparation for a career in teaching. Felder's selection, along vith the four others from New College, helped that institution to lead all other private colleges in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in numbers of Woodrow Wilson designates. The selection by the Foundation means that Felder's name will be forwarded to the deans of all grauuate schools with a notation that he is "worthy of financial support in graduate school." Felder will be a member of the second graduating class of New Coilege. In the first class. five students also were chosen by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation. 30- |
