Feller of 5625 East 2Jrd Street in Tucson, was one of five New College students to be selected as d .signates by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Silection as a means that he is judged as among the best future teacher prospects among students in North American colleges and universities. The Foundation selected 1,124 students at 309 colleges and universities in the u.s. and Canada from among more than 11,000 nominees. Baughman, who is taking the option to graduate with a bachelor of arts degree after three ,ars of study at New Collegf1 is majoring in Chemistry. lie plans to continue his studies at graduate bhool in preparation for a career. in teaching. naughman's selection, along with four others from New College, helped that institution to lead all other private colleges in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in numbers of Woodrow Wilaon designates. The selection by the Foundation means that Baughman's -me will be to the deans of all graduate schools with a notation that he is "worthy of financial support in graduate school." Baughman will be a member of the second graduating class at New College. In the first class, five students also were chosen by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation. 30 |
