NEWS RELEASE NEw CoLLEGE SARASOTA, FLORIDA 33578 1 124 -2/27/68 813 / 355-7131 Ref.: Furman c. Arthur FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dr. Norman 0. Brown, professor of classics and comparative literature at the University of Rochester, will offer a special talk at New College's Hamilton Center Thursday, February 29 at 8 p.m., open to the public. Dr. Brown, who holds a special chair at the university, will give a talk entitled "Daphne, or Metamorphosis." Educated at Oxford University, the University of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin, where he took his doctorate, Dr. Brown has taught at Nebraska Wesleyan University, at Connecticut's Wesleyan University, and has served as a research analyst with the Office of Strategic Services of the u.s. government. Special awards gathered during his career include those from the Fund for the Advancement of Education of the Ford Foundation, the Guggenheim Foundation, and from the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. 30
