Arthur SARASOTA--Three representatives of New College are in Hanover, N H today attending a four day Conference on Student Parti cipation in Educational Reform being held at Dartmouth College. Attending from New College are President John Elmendorf, Dean of Students Jack Rains, and student Mary Lamprech. The conference is being sponsored by the new Dartmouth Experimental College and the Union for Research and Experimentation in Higher Education, and is supported in part by the Esso Education Foundation. Ron Silverman, director of the new Dartmouth eollege, said that the conference could help students, faculty and administrators recognize new ways to encourage students to take part in the planning and conduct of their own education and also to open for discussion methods presently being used in experimental programs. President Elmend orf is scheduled to participate in a panel discussion on experimental programs today (Friday). The conference ends Sunday 30 |
