ARTHUR INFORMATION 1 -21 Sept. 26, 1967 SARASOTA--A former sales manager of a national industrial firm has joined the administrative staff of New College as associate director of development. Duff H. Baldwin, who will have the responsibility of foundation and corporate contact, was formerly general sales manager for the Universal Match Corporation and more recently director of development at Ball State University. Baldwin, who has been in charge of sales of several large corporations since graduating from Kent State University of Ohio in 1941, and who was once a partner in his own advertising agency, left business for education because he felt "business people are needed in education to work with corporations and foundations. I thought I could make a significant contribution based on my experience in dealing with them," he says. Baldwin came from Ball State to New College because he said he was "intrigued with New College's innovations." He states he was attracted to the school because the program allows students to concentrate on areas of their greatest interest and minimizes "wasteful courses." more PAGE 2 NEW COLLEGE Page 2 Among Baldwin's areas of responsibility at New College will be the Deferred Giving program, federal programs, area fund-raising leadership and gifts from foundations and corporations.
