l -6 Sept. 5, 1967 FOR RELEA F.: Thursday, Sept ber 7, 1967 ARASOTA--A soci 1 sycholo 1st who has done considerable previous in by iologic 1 psychology has been named as ociate professor of p ycholo y at 'ew College and chairman of th DiviRion of Social Sciences. Dr. Jack D. Rain durin the past year a ational Science Foundation (NSF) faculty fellow in the Department of oct 1 Relations at Harvard University, wa on leave from hi faculty po ition at Lake Forest College where he has been for five year Dr. Rains was 'collaborating with Dr. oger Brown, professor of social psychology at Harvard, on a research problem in group dynamics under the sponsorship of the NSF. While at Harvard he lso lead a freshman seminar and was invited by Dr. David Riea n to participate in teaching his popular undergraduate general education course. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology at Texas w .. tern College in 1953, Dr. Rains joined an El Paso radio and television station with who he had worked during his undergraduate years. Three years later, he joined the faculty of erson Collegetn Boston to teach broadcaating and then returned to the Soutbweat to resuae bia education at the University of Arizona.
