PAGE 1 NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR RELEASE: THURSDAY, MAY 11, 1967 The first Ben G. Rudolph Lecture will be held tonight at 8 o'clock (Thursday, Hay 10) in Hamilton Center on the New College campus Hith Dr. Harry H. Orlinsky speaking on "The NeH Age of Bible Translation: JeHish, Protestant, and Catholic." Dr. Orlinsky is professor of Bible at the York School of Union Institute of Religion, editor-in-chief of the NeH Translation of the Hebre\v Bible for the Publication Society of America, and the first Je\oJish scholar ever invited to take part in an authorized Christian translation of the Bible into English. The talk by Dr. Orlinsky be for students, faculty, invited p,uests and to the public. It is one of a series planned in the area of Judaic studies to be given on the Ne\-1 College campus. Dr. Orlinsky, considered one of the leading Biblical authorities in the tvas the only Jewish member of the committee of scholars that produced the Revised Standard Version of the Old Testament. He has had published recently a book on the study of the ancient society that produced the Bible. On Friday, the visiting Biblical scholar will meet informally students and faculty on campus.
