NEW COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE FOR IHt:IEDIATE RELEASE NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR -IN FORMA TJON A College student has been notified she third prize in the Short Poem Division of the i\nnual Poetry !lonth Competition. Glenda Cimino, a third-year student from Atlanta, Ga., received the prize for her poem, "Circle of Death." She tvas one of more than 300 entries in the competition sponsored by the Society of Fine Arts for the T ampa Bay area. Competition t Jas open to all Florida residents with no restrictions on theme or style. Dr. Albert Howard Carter, published poet and Dean of Humanities at Florida Presbyterian College, served as judge. iliss Cimino ill enter the national l-1ademoiselle :1agazine ,.,.riting contest which closes in January. Last year she lvon second prize in a liter-ary contest sponsored at Neu College by the student neuspaper, The Catalyst. As a high school student in Atlanta, she received various at..rards for her creative writing. She is also a regular contributor to a literary sup-plement published monthly by the student newspaper. -30-
