-NEW COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION 'FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Papers of two New philosophy students vere given honorable mention in competition at the recent convention of the Florida Philosophical Association in Lakeland. Participating in the convention at Florida Southern College, third-year student Anna Navarro, Hallandale, and second-year student Rick Stauffer, Tucson, Ariz., presented papers they had written. Miss Navarro's paper, entitled "Diverse Existential was concerned with the philosophies of KierkeRaard and Buber. Stauffer's paper was "Problems of Phenomenalism." A total of 11 students and two faculty members attended the two-day conference from New College. The two faculty embers, Dr. Douglas Berggren and DT. Gresham Riley, are professors of philosophy at New Approximately 75 faculty members and a number of Rraduate students from achools across the state also attended. The New College Aroup was the only undergraduate group at the convention. This was their second year to participate in the convention of the State Philosophical Association. Last year two faculty meftlbers presented papers to the assembly. -3o-
