NEW COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE FOR JHHEDIATE RELEASE Mailed May 12, 1966 NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION Dr. Peter Buri, chairman of the Division of the Natural Sciences and professor of bioloey at Nell College, Hill attend a meeting of the Connnission on Undergraduate Education in the Biological Sciences (CUEBS) in Hashington from Hay 19 to 22. He is chairman of the panel on Biology in Liberal Education and member of a panel on Undergraduate major curricula of CUEBS, which operates under a grant from the National Science Foundation. The Commission is concerned with studying all aspects of undergraduate teaching in biology and tdth making recommendations for the revision of curricula and the improvement of teaching materials, facilities and personnel. The panels on which Dr. Buri serves are tt-1o of the eleven action groups currently l.,orking on specific projects designed to implement the commission's recommendations. -30-
