NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dr. Brian R. Kay has been named professor of psychology at New College beginning in September. The new faculty member, a native of Ne1-1 Zealand, presently holds the same post at the University of New Hampshire. Dr. Kay earned the bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of British Columbia and his doctorate at the University of London. During World Har II, he served with the British armed forces and later he t-1as a defense research scientist t.;rith the Department of National Defense of Canada. Dr. Kay has held a research appointment in psychology at Yale University and has been a member of the faculty at New Hampshire since 1956. \fuile at New Hampshire he has been director of that state's Comprehensive Mental Health Planning Project and he has received research grants from the University of London and the Office of Naval Research of the United States De-partment of Defense. -30-
