NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR IMHEDIATE RELEASE Organist and choirmaster Jerome Meachen has been named director of choral music at Net l College. }leachen is organist and choirmaster at the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota, a post he has held for four years. He formerly held the same posi-tion at St. John's Parish in Haterbury,Conn., for nine years. He t 7ill tvork Hith students interested in singing and also lvith those wishing to study music theory. Graduated from Oberlin Convervatory with a bachelor of music degree, he also earned a master of sacred music degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York. He will teach a weekly music class during the term and t.rill also direct students tvho are doing independent study work in music. -30-
