FOR Il1MED1 ATE RELEASE NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION Dr. David S. assistant professor of psychology at New College, has been notified that two of his research papers have been selected for reading at the April meeting of the SQutheastern Psycholegical Association Dr. Gorfein, whose area of specialty is experimental social said that the two papers will deal research he has done. One paper is titled, "Attitude Change and Conformity in Dress,11 and study Dr, Gorhin did a1110ng colleze students sho,ving the relation etweeu preference in areas and in the susceptibility of having attitude!! changed. The second, "Meaningfulness Effects in Verbal Learning ,.;rith Pronounce-ability Held Constant," describes the results of studies done on the New College campus. The paper points out that some and fail to take into count the matter of pronounceability, and Dr, Gorfein found that this tends to alter the results. Now in his first year as a member of the New College faculty, Dr. Gorfein was educated at Columbia University and has taught at the University of Alberta, Eastern Michigan University, Utah State University, and the University of Montana.
