Bradenton Herald Local radio NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE A membe:::of the New College Class of 1968, Kenneth Floyd Hoare, has been a Heydon Burns Scholarship, created from a fund established to assist young people in furthering their education. Moore is the son of Mr. and Hrs. r:oj 1 E. Moore of Palm City, Fla. While a student at }mrtin County High School, Stuart, Fla., Moore was active in many extracurricular activities which included acting as a rep-resentative to the DeMolay and delegate to the National Youth Forum. He was also president of the East District of the Senior Pilgrim Fellowship and held membership on the Executive Committee of the Florida United Church Youth Fellow-ship. Moore won awe.rds in English, history, mathematics, Spanish, and Latin during his high school career and highly recommended for acceptance at Nc-1 College by his high school teachers. Hoare be one of a class of nearly 100 first-year students to arrive on the New College campus the third week in September. He plans to make his career in some phase of religious work. |
