NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION POR REL Mon ay, July 27, 1964 Sarasota, Fla.---The appointment of Mr. Palmer Bevis to the Development Staff of New College has been announced by Dr. George F. Baughman, President. A graduate of Hotchkiss and Yale, he is a director of the Ivy League Club, secretary of the Sarasota Yale Club, director of the Players, and the director of the Sarasota County Historical Society. He was the executive director of Yale-in-China, a branch of Yale University in the Orient, whose campus has now been destroyed by the Chinese Communists. He has spent many years in the field of Public Relations and served in World War II and was commissioned a colonel in the Korean War. He has been a member of the Faculty Club in New Haven, the Yale Club of New York, the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. and the University Club in San Francisco. ###
