/-,NEW COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR RELEASE: Dr. Corinne Wilson has been named an Assistant Professor of Classics at New College by Provost and Dean of the College, Dr. John W. Gustad. Dr. Wilson was graduated with honors from Rockford College, where she began her classical studies. She then went on to earn her doctorate at the University of North Carolina in Latin and Greek and then earned a second bachelor's degree, in library science. She has taught at the University of North Carolina, Louisi-ana State University, Queens College, and at Hollins College. She was acting Head of the Departmentof Classics at Hollins. Dr. Wilson also holds the post of Acting Librarian at New College and has been instrumental in the formation of the present library. In addition to English and the classical languages of Latin and Greek, Dr. Wilson has studied French, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Russian, German, Spanish, and Italian. (more)


Page 2 As one of her interests, Dr. Wilson has co-authored a special teaching syllabus for an accelerated class in beginning Latin and it was used at the University of North Carolina.
