Arthur For Immediate Release SARASOTA--A College student Has honored recently for submitting the outstanding paper at the Florida Philosophical Associa-tion Conference. A paper Hritten by John H. Peters, a fourth year student from South Bend, Ind., was judged best at the Boca Raton meeting of philosophers from Florida colleges and universities. Competing against students largely from graduate schools, Peters won the $25 prize and entitled to read his paper at the meeting, 1:11hich ended Saturday. Peter's paper 1:vas entitled "Analyticity: Relativizing a Distinction." New College faculty members also read papers at the conference. Dr. Hillard C. Humphreys, associate professor of philosophy, read a paper on "Formalism in the Philosophy of Physics." Dr. B. Gresham Riley, assistant professor of philosophy, read a paper entitled, "Self Knmlledge: A Tale of the Tortoise TJhich Supports an Elephant." more
