FOR IMUEDIATE RELEASE NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION A Juilliard School of l1usic-trained cellist has been a tutor in music at New College. Christopher J. von Baeyer also -:-Till become first cellist of the Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra and will play with the Chamber Orchestra and the string quartet. von Baeyer earned both the bachelor's and master's degrees at Juil-liard, while working on a teaching fellowship. Since his graduation he has been an instructor in music at Ohio Hesleyan University. The new faculty and orchestra member has performed in the Aspen and Marlboro Festival orchestras and has been a member of orchestras recording for some of the leading record companies. He also has played the Menard Piano Trio under the auspices of the Lincoln Center for the Perform-ing arts, with the Orchestra of America, and with three Ohio community sym-phonies. von Baeyer recently toured South America in a State Department-spon-sored visit of the Robert Shaw Choral and Orchestra. -30-
