FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Miss Sally Lucke, coordinator of art of the Sarasota County Schools and special assistant in art education for the Museum of Modern Art in New York, has been named curator of the Fine Arts Institute of New College. Miss Lucke will retain her positions with the public schools and the museum while serving in her new post wi th the Institute. Her new duties will include directing the gallery of the Institute and the maintaining, cataloguing, and care of the permanent collection of paintings now owned by the college and storage and custodianship of other works of art. The new curator has been working informally with the Institute for a number of months, assisting its coordinator, Professor Syd Solomon, in developing a gallery and providing for a broad Institute program. Coordinator of art in Sarasota Schools since 1961, Hiss Lucke has been active in various phases of art on several levels of education. Graduated from Ohio State University, she did graduate work there and at the University of Florida. Since then she had done work for a municipal recreation department, churches, camps, and was an instructor in art at Ohio State University. -30-
