NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR RELEASE: tiDNDAY, AUGUST 9, 1965 An author, teacher and psychological researcher from t :ichigan tv-ill become full time Assistant Professor of Psychology at UeH College this September. Dr. David S. Gorfein, lV'ho holds degrees in both Social and Ex-perimental Psychology, has published 'Jidely in professional journals on as-pects of authoritarian personality, sleep deprivation, and child development. After receiving his bachelor's degree from City College of NelV' York and the master's degree from Columbia University, Dr. Gorfein taught psychology at the University of Hontana and Utah State University before re-ceiving his doctoral degree from Columbia University. Dr. Gorfein, lV'ho has held grants from the Aquinas Foundation and the national Institute of Iental Health, comes to !Iel-7 College from Eastern llichigan University, uhere he has held a research grant for pilot research in personality factors affecting persuasibility. Dr. Gorfein and his Hife plan to reside in Sarasota. -30-
