Slaughter, Corporate President of EMR, electronics re-search corporation of Sarasota, has notified Dr. George F. In making this announcement, Mr. Slaughter said, "The Schlumberger Foundation was created and funded by Schlumberger in Houston in March 1954 to promote charity, education, religion, and science. The principal activity of the Foundation since that time has been to grant scientific scholarships to se-lected universities and colleges. EMR is wholly owned by Schlumberger and has been privileged to submit recommendations to the Foundation relative to con-tributions made to various educational institutions." Dr. Baughman said, in acknowledging the announcement, are de-lighted and deeply grateful for this award to New College for scientific equip-ment. I am especially pleased with this gift as it marks the first time that the work of New College has been recognized by a company in the electronics field.
