FOR RELEASE: Sunday, May 31, 1964 NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION Sarasota, Fla.--Sumner B. Emerson, a partner of Morgan Stanley & today was elected a member of the New College board of trustees. New College is a private, co-educational college of the liberal arts and sciences accepting its charter class of studentsin September. Dartmouth alumnus Emerson who from 1941-60 was an active partner in the New York investment banking firm and is now a limited partner, makes his winter home in Sarasota. His appointment was announced by Louis H. LaMotte, New College trustee chairman and IBM director. Emerson also is a trustee of Rutgers University and is a former overseer of the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. He is a native of New Hampshire and an honors graduate of Dartmouth. ###
