NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C. ARTHUR INFORMATION FOR RELEASE: Thursday, May 21, 1964 A member of New Colleges Charter Class will appear on television and the Dean of Admissions will talk about the other members of the class on a special program on station WTVT, Channel 13, Tampa, following the telecast of the baseball game, Sunday afternoon, May 24. Made as part of the public affairs series, College Kaleidoscope, the telecast was filmed on the campus of New College and features Dean of Admissions Robert J. Norwine and Charter Class student Esther Lynn Barazzone talking with Don Harris of the staff of WTVT. Filmed on the terrace and bayfront walk of College Hall, the half-hour presentation shows Dean Norwine describing how the first class of students has been found and the methods used in selecting this final group from among the many applicants. Appearing midway in the film is Miss Barazzone, explaining her thoughts on being part of the first class to enroll at New College and also the reasons for her choice. College Kaleidoscope features programs made at the various campuses in Florida and is part of the regular public service programming of WTVT. Previously, New College has been featured in a special inter-view with President George F. Baughman. ###
