NEW COLLEGE, SARASOTA, FLORIDA FURMAN C ARTHUR INFORMATION r FOR RELEASE: Immediate Dr. John W. Gustad, Provost and Dean of the College, has been made a member of The New York Academy of Sciences. Announcement of the appointment was made by Eunice Thomas Miner, Executive director of the academy. The academy, with a membership comprised of scientists representing every known area of scientific endeavor, has as its credo the advancement of scientific research and discovery, providing a forum for presentation and discussion of scientific problems, publication of results of research, and interpreting such papers for the promotion of common welfare. Members of the academy reside in each of the 50 states and 84 foreign countries. Seventy-five per cent live outside New York. Dean Gustad also holds membership in the American Psychological Association, Eastern Psychological Association, Psychometric Society, American Association of University Professors, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Council on Education, Southern aegional Education BQaLd# ciation for Higher Education. #-II
